NEWCASTLE TARGET ANOTHER WIN AT LEICESTER

The Magpies were the only team yet to taste a win amongst the 92 professional teams in England this season at the end of the Norwich City game last week Tuesday as they were forced to a 1-1 draw at home by their fellow Premier League relegation candidates. Newcastle United played over eighty (80) minutes of the game with ten men after Irish defender Ciaran Clark was sent off for a daft foul on Norwich City striker TeemuPukki.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Newcastle United showed their mettle as they took the lead from the spot in the second half after Norwich City midfielder Billy Gilmour was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. England international Callum Wilson gave Newcastle United the lead from the resulting penalty and the Northeast team held on until Pukki scored a late equaliser to rescue a 1-1 draw for the Canaries.

Newcastle United didn’t let the disappointment of conceding a late goal as they eventually picked up a win thanks to the 1-0 home win over fellow relegation battlers Burnley. England national team star Wilson was the man responsible for the winning goal five minutes from the half-time break after the mistake from Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope. The Magpies thereafter held on to three huge points in the battle to stay in the Premier League this season. With the win, the Magpies are now three points off safety on the league standings.

Newcastle United can make it two wins in a row by beating Leicester City this weekend before they face games against Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United in this festive period.
